A: A song that reminds of a certain time and place is "Buffalo Soldier," by Bob Marley. It specifically reminds me of when I was in Iraq in 2004 and Jassim, a man that I worked with, would always play a Bob Marley tape when we were in his car. One day we were trying to cross through a US army checkpoint but the soldiers didn't want to let us pass. But when they heard Bob Marley coming out of the speakers, they started to relax and joke around with us, and eventually they let us through. Every time I hear that song, it reminds me of Jassim and that day.
